While exploring Zanzibar, the family travels to a remote village to meet the Madonde family—a special family of Albino Maasai who have faced unimaginable hardships.

The episode begins with Franklin and Mia being warmly welcomed into the Madonde household, where they meet Mr. Madonde, a proud Maasai man with albinism, his albino wife, and their six children—two 18-year-old twin daughters, an 18-year-old son (the eldest), and two younger boys aged just 8 years old. Despite their challenges, the Madonde family greets Franklin and Mia with kindness, resilience, and a strong sense of culture.

As Franklin sits down with Mr. Madonde, he listens to a shocking and heartbreaking story that leaves him and Mia in tears. Mr. Madonde explains how life in Tanzania is incredibly dangerous for people with albinism because of a dark and terrifying belief:

Franklin and Mia are horrified as they hear stories of attacks, kidnappings, and fear that many albino families face every day. The Madonde children live under constant protection, and their parents fear for their safety whenever they step outside. Some of their own relatives have been victims of these horrific crimes, forcing them to relocate to this village for protection.
